Trump walks into a South Carolina runoff that is not finished
Darline Graham vs Ralph Norman, Tuesday. The winner still has to beat Annie Andrews.
Donald Trump appeared Friday evening at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center for Darline Graham, the appointed U.S. senator running in Tuesday's Republican runoff against Rep. Ralph Norman. The winner faces Democrat Annie Andrews in November. Lindsey Graham died July 11. Darline Graham was appointed to the seat and failed to clear 50 percent in the Aug. 11 primary, which is why there is a runoff at all.
Rep. Russell Fry has endorsed Graham. On the trail she has pressed the SAVE Act and needled Norman over mail she called undeliverable. Norman is the House incumbent in the race and has treated the runoff as a live fight, not a formality. A rally with Trump is a show of force. It is not the same thing as the votes being counted.
